Phoenix Model Flying Club (Dorset)

We are a small friendly club and operate from a beautiful farm site just outside Wareham in Dorset on the south coast of England; beautiful Thomas Hardy country!

As you will be aware, we are affiliated to the BMFA and our first priority is safety followed closely by a desire to enjoy our hobby to the full!

We fly principally fixed wing radio controlled model aircraft, aerobatic, sport, scale and gliders to mention but four types; both ic and electric.

The Club committee works hard to maintain our cherished airfield which is occasionally visited by local moles and rabbits! On our operational days, access is from 10am with closure being sunset in the summer and 4pm, winter.  The committee recognises the value of evening membership meetings to discuss items of interest and enjoy each other’s company. We also have a large airfield-based Clubhouse where much business and discussion is done. Useful when the weather wishes not to ‘play’ too!

We offer free tuition for beginners, guiding them through to the BMFA “A” qualification level using the “Buddy-box” system and later to the BMFA “B” level.

Please come and join in with the fun!

Meantime, if you would like to learn a little more about us, or apply for membership, please reference the contact details above. Our esteemed secretary will be delighted to correspond with you!
