Members assembled for our Annual General Meeting for 2025 on a chilly evening at Carey Hall, Wareham. Although conducting and attending formal meetings is rarely any flyer’s favourite pastime, those able to make it enjoyed the event.
The agenda followed conventional lines with reports from the Committee members holding specific responsibilities indicating all areas were doing well, as they indeed are. One subject attracting particular attention was the effort club members have put in over the year to grounds management and husbandry; well done everyone!
The evening was concluded with David, our chairman, presenting Simon with a keepsake as a thank you from the club for his many years’ service he has put in as our Club Secretary. He first occupied the position in 1993 and has since worked very hard to maintain standards and lead the way in several club avenues associated with our common interest, that of model flying! As Simon takes a well-earned break from administrative duties, he assures us he will continue in the role of Club BMFA qualified examiner and assist with Club activities when able.
Replacing Simon in the role of Secretary is Brian, he will carry on the fine work keeping us all informed of events and information to keep us ticking over for 2025; he has a tough act to follow but we have every confidence!!
Thank you Simon and Brian.
