An Enjoyable Sunday!

Sunday 3rd September saw perfect flying conditions – the type of day we all dream about! It was off to the flying patch……..

Several members enjoyed an excellent ‘session’. Program custodian Phil was so impressed with the activities, he photo’d a selection of the activities and these are reproduced below. Phil also provided a little text to reflect his observations of what had been an excellent ‘day at the patch’.

With light winds and sun it was a perfect day for flying. Today was a mixture of old and new, EDF’s to oily’s, Steve and Keith on the oil, and us youngsters on the Lipo’s. David maidened his Big Fun (at last (Hmphhhh!)) which went off and performed faultlessly. Barry was on form flying landing approaches. In all, it was a pleasant, relaxing morning‘.

Thank you Phil! His photos……….

EDF’s appear popular!

Some strange looking craft sporting ‘propellors’ were also evident!

Brian and Keith wrestle with Keith’s ic. Perhaps an EDF conversion could solve the issue!!

………..meanwhile I ‘bf’ an old trainer to ‘stretch my wings’ due to not having flown for a sometime.

….before later proceeding nervously to the flight-line to maiden my modified design ‘Big Fun’. I need not have worried; it flew very well – with Phil’s help on the trims initially. One concern I had was the necessity for a little over 4oz of lead in the nose to get the CG right (@ 3″ aft of the L.E.); photo below…………spot the ballast!!
