Your esteemed Club Secretary, Simon, reports on Sunday 15 Sept 2019 activities…………
Commencing with the results for Round 9 of the Phoenix 2000 soaring competition:- Dave – 815; Roly – 803; Simon – 761; Phil – 688; Darren – 463; Kim – 365. (Dave latterly did better once he decided to employ batteries that had been charged…. 🙄)
I must publicly apologise to Kim! I got side-tracked talking about batteries……🙄…….and forgot to let him know when his 30 second climb out was done! 😠 (Doh!) OOps…my bad, and Kim was certain he would have achieved a 15 minute flight! 😀
The feedback on the Winter Phoenix 2000 “Round Robin” event was good, so watch this space for dates etc. 😲
Similar good feedback on indoor flying, more to follow on this. 😁
Good and bad for Roly! Just been and changed my trousers 🦨 after helping him with his Skyhawk maiden……all ended well; only tears of joy! 😊 Not quite such a good result from the Vampire which decided it wanted to fly to New Zealand! 🙃 More to follow once the problem has been identified 😰 ; believed a radio issue. 😏 Nothing that one kilo of epoxy can’t cure eh Roly?! 😉
Great aerobatic display from Steve. 😱 Bit worried about the smoke trail tho! 😷
Greaser landing from Peter H. Ably “talked down” by Phil, his wingman. 😁
Nostalgic bi-plane flying by Kim, who also gave me some ideas for next years programme. 😇
All in all, a fantastic, relaxing? day at Trigon.😍
Thanks to all competitors for taking part. 😙
