Flying at Trigon Sunday feb12th.

Quite a number of “core” Trigon members assembled this morning to be greeted by a medium strength wind from an unusual direction….we were joined by Chris Evans, a skiing friend of DB who came to watch R/C flying. Chris has been a long-term member of the Ski Club of GB and has looked after many more mature skiers mainly in ZERMATT.

When we arrived, Peter had just finished flying a large Tundra Bush plane. A good landing ensued.

Next off was Roly with what looked like a smallish Drone/Quadcopter. Up it went, higher and higher. Drifting downwind, with Roly fighting with the controls, and? Unaware of shouts from the onlookers to throttle back…last seen over Alaska and probably shot down by an F16?? Also, Roly had a bit of a blow up in his EDF scale foamy…

Next Simon kindly test flew my £60 Opterra ….There was a bang on takeoff as the rear prop touched the Dolly ,without significant damage to the prop ( see photo of Dolly) Small modifications will be needed Many thanks to Simon, who landed the plane on the second approach, very successfully, after a good flight.

David flew his Vampire look-alike with 3Dprinted jet efflux. After an abortive first take-off attempt it went well.

We all then retreated to the caravan to warm up

Unfortunately, I forgot to ask Phil to give Chris a go on the dual Control Trainer. Phil has been doing sterling service on the training!

Best wishes DB.

David’s Opterra.

Slightly damp grass but it didn’t stop the action!
