Phoenix 2000 Competition – Round 4.

By | June 13, 2019

A busy patch and good weather – hard to beat!

Our esteemed P2K organiser has done it again! Peter Marshall provided us with yet another excellent (but relaxed!) day at Trigon on Sunday June 9th. Normal flying, of course, continued in parallel. Peter writes……

Well, the weather Gods were kind to me today as it was a perfect day for round 4 of the 2000 competition . We are half way throughout the comp with a final round to decide the full winner, well done to all that came up and flew on a perfect thermal day. It was difficult to get the timing  right for launch and, in hindsight, the afternoon proved to be the best time with the sea breeze front coming through and giving  unprecedented lift such that air brakes and spoilers had to be deployed and we were still going up in 3m/s lift . Unfortunately these times did not count as we all had flown our 2 scoring flights but good fun after all.

Results for Round 4.

PS Kim was demonstrating his daylight visible (& it was!) led installation on his Vampire. The led’s blink when EDF battery volts start to get “tired” – trigger voltage level is programmable. Details from Kim.
