One Design Glider Rules 2019 – Refresh!

By | April 2, 2019

The model to be used is the Hobby King Phoenix 2000 EPO

Only the propeller, motor, ESC, and fittings as originally supplied by HK are to be employed.

No modifications are allowed to the airframe or flying surfaces including changes to wing camber in flight.

Decals and colour scheme, no restrictions apply.

Battery tray may be removed and screw holes on fuselage filled.

Additional 9g servos may be added to enable the variable flaps/airbrakes/crow brakes to be used.

Only battery permitted is the Zippy Compact 1300 3s 25c lipo.

Ten events will be held on Sundays throughout the year, with the best five day-totals to count. (This may change due to cancelled events).

Scoring cards will be provided.

Post-launch motor run is limited to 30 seconds.

Timing of flights for climb out, flight total and final event scores will be arranged by the event organiser .

Whilst a competition flight is being conducted by a competitor, the person responsible for that timing should remain behind the green fence and not enter the pilot’s box. This is to ensure that the competitor cannot be accused of surreptitious coaching or assistance. Additionally, disruption to other active competitors and pilots is avoided.

The competition comprises two timed flights per pilot, each conducted at any time on the event day. Scores are recorded in seconds up to a maximum of 15 minutes (900 seconds) per flight.

Landing on the patch is not mandatory, but the end of the flight is either triggerd by powering up, or model seen to land.

Minor adjustments to the rules may be made by the organiser if deemed necessary.

……………………….Good luck, and I hope you all enjoy the events.
